Tips for participants in ERC 2017 in Tallinn
- Take out travel insurance for your whole trip (just in case).
- Wear comfortable walking shoes, especially when going on tours, but also when walking in town. Tallinn Old Town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site just 5 minutes from the conference venue) has numerous cobbled streets...
- Beware of the Estonian weather, which is extremely varied and quite unpredictable. Check the weather forecast right before you start on your way to Tallinn (e.g. at http://www.accuweather.com/en/ee/tallinn/127964/weather-forecast/127964) but no matter what the forecast says, be prepared for temperatures ranging from +10℃ to +25℃, and for rain.
- If you happen to get lost, do not hesitate to ask passers-by for help. Most people in Estonia can understand one or more of the following European languages: English, German, Finnish, Russian.
